Blue Tin

My old barn was made with railroad ties and thick, heavy gauge tin by a man who worked the railroad his whole life.
The color is closer to what is known as gunmetal grey, but my eyes have always seen a blue hue which has attracted me and thus has appeared in every study and painting created featuring this building. It is an outbuilding built in the 40's, or 50's, with handmade windows, and is separate from my 1912 "shotgun style" home. 

For me, I find that simplicity often says more than detail.
