Watercolor on 550 lb. Arches paper 22 x 32 Private Collection
This painting is the second of two connected works painted during a time of year here in my home state of Florida when hurricanes are far too prevalent. The title of the first painting in the series, which was initially intended simply to be a portrait of a shell on the outside of my porch railing, became an ominous reminder of life in a state where nature can wreak havoc. This painting is more of a celebration of light and shadow.
